Call for Papers

 The call for papers is open!

On behalf of the Organisers and the International Committee, we cordially invite you to the 9th edition of the International Conference on Fundamentals & Development of Fuel Cells, FDFC 2023. This edition will be held in Ulm (Germany), from September 25-27, 2023, hosted by the Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (ZSW).

The main topics at FDFC2023 will address fuel cells and electrolysers, ranging from the fundamentals of electrochemistry to material developments, stack architecture and systems operation. The conference will provide in-depth description about the recent advances at single cell and stack levels, system development, as well as cell diagnosis, power processing and control, characterisation of membrane electrode assemblies, etc., hence covering all the aspects of fuel cell and electrolyzer technologies.

Topics will include:

  • Proton Exchange Membrane systems and components
  • Solid Oxide systems and components
  • Alkaline systems and components
  • Hydrogen as fuel
  • Cross-cutting topic focusing on characterizations and modelling methods
  • General session

Here in Ulm, the birthplace of Albert Einstein, you should also take some time to climb the world’s highest church steeple and enjoy the view over the historic city of Ulm and the River Danube. A walk through the Fisherman’s quarter with its half-timbered houses and picturesque footbridges is also highly recommended.
